My next blog has been on my mind for a while and its something we all love – a good transformation story! The theme is not so much about affordability this time but more about inspiration!!

….Ok so there’s this bathroom (THE BATHROOM) – thought-out, designed & created by my good friends. And they’ve very kindly allowed me to share it with you.

It’s maybe the best bathroom I’ve ever seen and if someone told me I had to live in it for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t mind. It has been a transformation masterpiece.

TRANSFORMATION

It went from this…

…to this (yes this is the same room).

Like many bathrooms – it started quite bog standard (lol) and it’s revamp has created something special! So I want to show you around and then we can all copy. Joking/not joking.

FEATURE FLOOR

Starting with the monochrome flooring – this is definitely one of the main reasons this bathroom looks so edgy.  Keeping the walls and flooring a lighter shade opens the room up and makes it look bigger (obvious from the before and afters) and these tiles specifically, make such an impact. They’re also Swedish, ya. (Flooring: somewhere in Sweden but you can also get similar prints online from onlinecarpets.co.uk from £11.99 per M²).

TILE TREND

To add to the contemporary-ness of it all – please see tiles below. The fact they’re vertical gives the appearance of a taller room and the cream marble, again, opens up the space. (Tiles: TREND Transformations Perth.) P.s. The hanging hemp basket can be bought at wayfair.co.uk. Stick some Ivy in and you’ll feel like Mowgli at your morning shower.

GARDEN IN A BOX

Don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen this before and it is one of my favourite things in this room! Fill with water , fill with soil, or you could use pebbles (anything in a garden centre). It’s so modern looking and you can make it completely unique to you.

BATH HAPPY

Seeing bath trays/caddys everywhere just now. This one is as simple as it gets and it fits in perfectly. Accessorised with a wee sponge and back scrubber – the whole scene is complete tranquility. (Bath caddy: Wayfair.co.uk, Scrubber: John Lewis, Sponge: Dunelm).

STOOL STYLING

Depending on the shape and size of your bathroom, it’s well worth trying this out.  A mix and match of plants have been used in concrete planters – tieing in with the rest of the room and  you can use various #justbits and bobs to finish it off. (Stool: Wayfair.co.uk, Plant pots: Etsy/John Lewis etc, Turkish haman towels: Etsy.co.uk, Bath oil: Glendoig Garden Centre, Pumice stone: John Lewis, Candle: ANYWHERE).

BOTTLED IT

One thing that makes this bathroom look so stylish is the consistency of colour. It sounds like a lot of effort but matching bottles look a lot better than a million different ones gathering around your bath/shower. If you want the look just buy the bottle, use it, and then keep filling up with another shampoo. (or just buy it again if you’re not tight). It’s a good idea if you ask me. MIRROR MIRROR

These round mirrors have been quite popular recently but this one has a little twist because 1. it floats 2.  it has lights and 3. there is storage built into the wall behind it. Clever!! The vase used to be an infuser, recycled to now hold a plant from the garden. Easy and cheap!!

KEEPING IT COOL

Finally, who knew toilet roll storage could look so stylish? Accompanied with the bamboo matt – it finishes off the room perfectly. Also, in case you’re wondering – the black thing is a toilet brush. (Hemp baskets: Wayfair.co.uk, Bamboo matt: Dunelm, Toilet brush: Outer space lol).
